S A GAME
Think of your journey to success as a board game. Each accomplishment lets you move one space. It doesn’t matter how big of an accomplishment you get, you only move one space. This doesn’t seem fair, but this is life and life isn’t fair. Also, players don’t all start in the same position. This doesn’t seem fair either. (see explanation 2 sentences ago) Some players start almost at the finish line in comparison to other players. Its the luck of the draw. Some players get to move spaces without achieving the accomplishments that you had to achieve because their board piece is attractive or their board piece knows other board pieces. No matter what your board piece looks like, you will inevitably believe that its a wheelbarrow.
There will be obstacles in your way. There will be a board tax. You will have to pay more and more the farther you go on this board. On the board there are pieces that will convince you that you have gone far enough. Other pieces will distract you and make you miss your go, and there are pieces that will help you get farther. There will be pieces that you will help get farther but you will then slow down your progress. There are pieces slowing down their progress to get you farther. There will be pieces that you love so much that you will just kind of stay in one place with and not realize you’ve been stationary for years and made little pieces with it. There will be pieces that you are in the same spot as you but they found success. The thing is that you really don’t know any pieces true intentions until its too late.
When its too late, you will have to go in “timeout”. Timeout is a place that will have a scroll for you to read from. That scroll is your failure. You will be pissed at your failure and not want to look in your failures direction. Your failure is the reason you’re in timeout in the first place! But you can’t because the only way to get out is by acknowledging it. After acknowledgement, you will have to learn as much as possible from your failure. Here is the problem, while you are reading this scroll, your piece is on a continuous roll backwards. So you can’t stay in timeout and learn for too long but if you don’t learn anything, your return will be inevitable.
Upon getting to timeout, you may feel discouraged and not want to play anymore. You may say “Forget this stupid game. I’m not playing anymore.” Thats fine but you’re a loser and you will never become successful. If you aren’t successful you aren’t happy. Success isn’t money in this game, success is your goal. Sometimes the goal is money, sometimes its happiness, sometimes its fame but whenever success is you won’t even obtain it if you don’t play. If you really wanted success you will inevitably be back to the game but guess what?!? You’ve rolled back many of spaces and still haven’t acknowledged your failure.
The key to this game is to learn as much from your failure as possible and get back into the game. Do not look at the other pieces are rivals but see them as assets or liabilities. Always be an asset.
*This game is kind of like soccer. You don’t know how much time is left, you’ve just got to keep playing.
*There is no reset button.
